Halloween Hide’n’Freak
Dates: 25 Oct - 2 Nov 2008
Times: All Day
Start off your Halloween adventure with a journey through the jungle, and get ‘In with the Lemurs’. These inquisitive creatures will get up close to have a good look at you, and you can have a good look right back.
The word lemur means ghost in Madagascan, and these fascinating mammals got their name because of their nocturnal habits and ghostly colouring, learn more about the ring-tailed lemurs in the daily junior ‘Ghosts of Madagascar’ talk.
After you’ve settled down from hearing the freaky Lemur tales, head for the wolves and put your howling skills to the test! Become a member of a pack of wolves, and learn the truth behind the myths that surround these amazing animals. They might not be so ‘freaky’ after all!
You can get involved in our Siberian tiger trekking experience. Let the Explainer team lead you into the hidden world of the biggest of the big cats, through a series of challenges in our fully interactive tiger trail.
Animal demonstrations
Don’t miss the incredible Birds of the World or Sealion Splash demonstrations that are on twice a day throughout Half term. Learn how Barclay the Sealion hides from his predators, and how the Macaws imitate other animals to disguise themselves.
Interactive family scare tactics show
Much closer to home, join us on the children’s farm for a journey into how some of the zoo's more family friendly animals use freaky ways to hide and keep themselves safe. Are you as brave as a bunny, can you move like a mara or will you be let down by your llama skills? Find out in our interactive family scare tactics show.
