Passionate about wildlife in general and large carnivores in particular, Yekini has over 7 years of experience in wildlife conservation in West Africa (Benin, Burkina Faso and Niger).

Before joining ZSL, Yekini had the opportunity to work with other organisations: GiZ, OeBenin, WildCru, Africa Range-Wide Cheetah Conservation Initiative where he contributed to the development and implementation of several activities in the W-Arly-Pendjari Complex Parks and local communities.

Currently, he is the Field Coordinator for the ZSL WAP Program where he contributes to the monitoring of wildlife by photographic traps, training of rangers in the use of SMART software for patrol data management, intelligence management, Anti-poaching and the fight against wildlife trafficking, for the benefit of agents of Water and Forests, justice, police, gendarmerie and customs in Niger and Benin and the supervision of the pilot phase of the project of support to the communities bordering the Parks.
