HELP US SAVE LONDON'S WILDLIFE

The River Thames is London’s hidden wildlife secret. Did you know that the murky brown waters are hiding porpoises, seals and seahorses alongside cockney eels and smelt – the fish that smells of cucumber.

At ZSL we’ve been working tirelessly since 2004 to improve the ecology and biodiversity of the Thames estuary and protect and better understand the species found here.

Declared biologically dead in the 1950’s, thanks to the work of ZSL, our partners and volunteers, the River Thames is now a hub of life – and a shining example of how wildlife can be brought back from the brink.

But there’s lots of work still to do, and the Thames needs all of us to ensure a future for its amazing wildlife.

By giving a one-off or regular donation to our conservation work, you could help to support the native wildlife in our capital city, as well as countless other threatened species around the world. Please donate to support wildlife today.

WHY SUPPORT ZSL?

ZSL is an international conservation charity driven by science, working to restore wildlife in the UK and around the world. We’re a powerful movement of conservationists from different countries and disciplines, working together to save animals on the brink of extinction and those who could be next.

We have a unique insight and evidence-based approach, made possible through a powerful combination of our world-leading scientific research and conservation work in over 50 countries, supported by our conservation Zoos.

And we have a proven track record of delivering sustainable solutions that really work - for wildlife and people. We've saved Extinct-in-the-Wild species, helped to double tiger numbers in Nepal and India, restored vital wildlife habitats like the River Thames and are disrupting the illegal wildlife trade.

Please help us by donating, and join the fight to save our natural world.
