Sustainable Finance
Conservation finance
There needs to be a shift in the global flow of finance away from practices driving nature loss, and towards more sustainable business practices and nature positive outcomes.
As part of Alice's role as an Engagement Coordinator, she coordinates ZSL’s engagement with financial institutions to support the incorporation of biodiversity considerations into their decision making, as well as raising awareness of ZSL’s datasets, analytical outputs and capacities, and the topic of nature both as a risk, and an opportunity.
Before ZSL, Alice worked as a Project Manager and then Researcher on the Forest IQ project at Global Canopy for three years, bringing together aligned, best-in-class, and actionable data (including SPOTT) on how more than 2,000 companies are addressing their links to deforestation. Before Global Canopy, Alice worked at the marine conservation NGO, Surfers Against Sewage, in Cornwall engaging water companies, policymakers and academics on the ocean emergency as well as mobilising a network of volunteers on water quality campaigns addressing sewage and plastic pollution. Alice also holds a BA (Hons) in Geography and MSc Conservation both from University College London (UCL).
