KFinder is a Fortran program written by Jinliang Wang to estimate the most likely number of populations, K, from the outputs of STRUCTURE analyses. It implements three estimators of K, including the newly developed parsimony method described in:
Wang , J. 2019. A parsimonious estimator of the number of populations from STRUCTURE-like analysis. Molecular Ecology Resources 19: 970-981.
The KFinder program was created (version 1) in year 2019. The downloaded package includes an example dataset, the user’s manual, and the program executable runnable on MS-DOS in Windows 10, the binary runnable on Mac, and the binary runnable on linux.
