Huxley Lecture Theatre and Bartlett Suite

Our role is bringing people together, increasing understanding and inspiring them to cherish and care about wildlife is integral to restoring the wonder of life everywhere.

Our Huxley lecture theatre is a hub for people to learn from each other through our regular scientific symposia and celebrated Stamford Raffles Lecture series.

Famous faces including Sir David Attenborough, Dr Jane Goodall, Professor Richard Dawkins and HRH Prince William have all shared their passion for the natural world from our Huxley theatre. BBC Radio 4's Nature Table is recorded here.

Hiring the space

Our large lecture theatre is the perfect space for education presentations, larger corporate meetings, or lively panel discussions. 

With traditional fixed-tiered seating for 200 and a raised platform to the front for speaker impact, it’s the perfect location for formal events or large-scale lectures.

The lecture theatre comes equipped with an extensive range of AV equipment to support your sound and vision needs. This will need to be operated by a professional AV technician which our friendly team can organise for you. The lecture theatre also has a well-equipped control room with separate access. A lectern and seating for a panel are also available.

A private foyer area boasts natural daylight and a great space for registration or refreshments. 

Entrance to the theatre is direct access from the road (Outer Circle, Regent’s Park) making it easy for guests to find. 

Bartlett Suite

Connected to the Huxley lecture theatre is the Bartlett Suite, a versatile meeting space that can be hired together or as a separate meeting room.
The Bartlett Suite can be used as additional seating (non-raked) for the theatre space or separated using folding doors to use as a breakout room or meeting space for up to 50 people.

Entrance to the suite is direct access from the road (Outer Circle, Regent’s Park) making it easy for guests to find. 

Film and TV location

The traditional appearance of our lecture theatre and foyer makes it a sought-after TV and film location. If you’re interested in hiring the space for a TV or film production, please contact commercialfilming@zsl.org, where someone will be happy to help.
